At the beginning of December 2011, TANGRA approached the largest distributor of Danfoss, NASA-D, with an inquiry regarding the selection and supply of zone valves for controlling the HVAC system we were installing.

The project for which TANGRA was invited involved the installation of a new HVAC system in the first H&M store in Bulgaria, which was opened in the largest shopping center in the capital – The Mall, on "Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd". The specifics of the project involved adapting the existing HVAC system in the store to meet the particular requirements and standards of the famous Swedish fashion chain H&M (Hennes & Mauritz AB), which operates over 2,300 stores in 41 countries worldwide.
The boutique is located on 2,200 square meters spread over two floors in the mall building. The store was scheduled to open at the beginning of March 2012 – an extremely short time frame for updating the HVAC system.
TANGRA has been a long-standing partner of NASA-D. Over the years, Danfoss products in the field of heating and HVAC technology have been repeatedly supplied to TANGRA. NASA-D has frequently presented new Danfoss products and solutions in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to TANGRA’s specialists. Familiarity with the products, their high quality, and functionality has always been the foundation for our successful partnership.
In this project, the timeline was also crucial – the selection of the valves and the provision of the offer by NASA-D, the confirmation by the main contractor, and the delivery were all completed within just one week.
Eng. Nikolay Nedyalkov, project manager and head of the installation department at TANGRA, shares:
„This is the first H&M store in Bulgaria. It is located in The Mall and covers an area of over 2,200 sq.m. Hennes & Mauritz AB was founded in 1947 and is currently the second-largest clothing retailer in the world.
In the store, we installed 45 fan coil units with a total cooling capacity of 350 kW. The fan coil system is a four-pipe system. To switch between the „heating” and „cooling” modes, we used Danfoss two-way valves, model AMZ 112, with the corresponding KVS. We installed 86 valves of this model.
The main reasons for making this choice can be summarized as follows:
One of the top reasons for our choice was the possibility of delivery within a short timeframe. The period for reconstructing the entire HVAC system was limited to just 45 days. This period coincided with the New Year holidays, yet the colleagues at NASA-D still ensured timely delivery.
We are confident in the traditionally high quality of these products, and in this project, the compact design and ease of installation were particularly important for us. The compact design of the valves proved especially suitable for the suspended ceiling levels, which imposed certain dimensional constraints. The ease of installing the valves, in turn, saved us a lot of time. Given the tight project deadlines, this was an important consideration.
Not least in importance when making our decision were the competitive price and the manufacturer’s quality guarantee. This partially ensured our ability to fully meet the high requirements of the project client, who quite naturally expected us to deliver an HVAC system that complies with all modern European standards for quality and functionality.“
