Air purifiers reduce the spread of viruses, allergens and other contaminants indoors.

The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control reports that viral diseases as well as Covid-19 are spread by airborne pathogens. According to the recommendations published on the center’s website, by increasing the amount of clean and fresh filtered air, HVAC systems can dilute and destroy pathogens in the airways and mitigate the spread of the disease..

The World Health Organization recommends the use of HEPA filters to prevent the spread of viruses and aerosols, including coronavirus and up to 99.95%. The use of systems with HEPA filters reduces the risks of infection among occupants.

Johns Hopkins University conducted a study and proved that the corona virus SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) can be destroyed by proper radiation with UV-C light. Spores of bacteria, viruses and fungi exposed to UV-C light die and the air can be purified up to 99.99%.

HEPA filter:

Air purifiers and sterilizers equipped with a HEPA filter (high-efficiency particulate air filter) are designed to purify a minimum of 99.95% of dust, pollen, mold and bacteria, pet dust, and all airborne particles with a size greater than 0.3 microns.

UV-C radiation:

Rradiation with a wavelength below 200nm transforms oxygen in the air into ozone, which at certain levels can be useful, but in excess of the concentration can be toxic. The UV-C emitters used in TANGRA AirSterilizer have a wavelength above 250nm and the ozone is in minimum levels.

Direct UV-C radiation can damage the skin and can cause problems in human’s health. The purifiers TANGRA AirSterilizer 07 are designed so that during operation the radiation remains in the casing and radiates only the air. The occupants are not directly exposed to radiation and their health is preserved. UV-C emitters cannot be switched on during service and filter replacement.
