A seminar for HVAC engineers and specialist was held on 12.11.2019 in TANGRA HVAC Academy. The topic of the seminar was “Fans. Types and principles of work. Energy characteristics and classes. Regulations and norms. Retrofit of old systems.”
The seminar was organized by TANGRA HVAC Academy in collaboration with the German company for fans and electric motors Ziehl Abegg. Their representative, Mr. Christian Gorbach, arrived specifically for the event and outlined the changes and improvements of the European legislation and requriments for higher efficiency under EU Regulation 327. He drew attention to the choice of fans and pay-back period, as well as the increasing use of EC motors for fans. The course also include comparison between AC and EC fans, as graphically representation of the energy consumption of motors IE2/IE3/IE4/IE5. Through computer fluid simulation (CFD), Mr. Gorbach presented the selection and proper installation of fans in air handling units. Retrofitting of old installations with new EC fans was presented with a video.
