Perforated ventilation grille

The company rented a small workshop, renovated it, and the owners invested the income from design fees into machines, tools, and production materials. The first production workers and installers were hired. The first product – a ventilation grille – was developed and put into regular production.

Business Expansion

Thanks to their experience as designers, engineers, and researchers, the TANGRA team began creating a series of products and components for integration into ventilation and air-conditioning systems – ceiling ventilation grilles, silencers, heat exchangers with polymer fins, and more.

The First Showroom

“TANGRA-AV” opens the first trade center in Bulgaria with a showroom for ventilation, air-conditioning, and heating equipment.
The hall and warehouses are located in the western part of Sofia. A distributor network in the country begins to be established.
In the same year, “TANGRA-AV” becomes the authorized representative of “Soler & Palau” – Spain for the territory of Bulgaria.
The rich variety of residential and industrial fans allows “TANGRA-AV” to expand its range of manufactured products and to become one of the largest producers of HVAC equipment in the country as early as the mid-1990s.

Kozloduy

The company supplies and manufactures equipment, as well as builds installations at numerous sites. A large number of filter systems at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant have been reconstructed – the volume of purified air amounts to several million cubic meters per hour. The structural design was developed by the company’s Manager, Yuliy Armianov; the filter cartridges were manufactured and installed by the specialists of “TANGRA-AV.” Subsequently, the installations were approved by the European nuclear energy certification authorities. This motivated and gave confidence to the “TANGRA-AV” team to continue developing new products.

1996 - 1997

Increase of the area

The production facility was relocated to the building of TPC “Atanas Romanov”, and its area was tripled. During this period, the staff increased by 50–60 people, organized into production and installation teams, a design and engineering department, and commercial and administrative units. New production equipment was purchased, which boosted productivity and improved the quality of the manufactured products. In 1995, the first export was realized – recuperative heat exchangers for Greece.

1998 - 2003

ISO 9001:2000

Thanks to its sound financial policy and the continuous reinvestment in goods, materials, and machinery, the company managed to overcome the hyperinflation and economic difficulties of the period without serious disruptions.

2004 - 2008
Tangra 2004

This period is marked by the establishment of new contacts with suppliers, new projects, and the introduction of new products. Across the country, hotel and resort complexes begin to be actively developed. “TANGRA-AV” carries out a large number of installations at such sites, and the accumulated experience combined with high-quality execution makes the company a preferred partner among investors and construction companies. In 1999, the company purchased its own plot of land on “Evropa” Boulevard and built its first production and commercial center. The new large-scale production and warehouse facilities, the precise manufacturing equipment, and the dedicated work of the entire team led to a significant increase in the company’s turnover each year. By the end of 2003, the company’s team numbered just over 100 people, and the product range included more than 30 standard products in multiple modifications and sizes. In 2003, the range of recuperative heat exchangers won a gold medal at the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv. At “TANGRA-AV” Ltd., a quality management system ISO 9001:2000 was established, and in 2003 it was certified by Lloyd’s Register. In its efforts to bring products closer to consumers and to expand sales, the company opened two trade centers — in Varna and in Burgas.

An achievement for the company

An extremely successful period in the company’s development: the number of employees reached 200, while labor productivity was doubled; annual turnover increased by 30%; the number of permanent European partners grew, and exports exceeded 10% of the total volume. Installations were completed in dozens of large hotels in the resorts along the Black Sea and in Bansko, as well as in business centers in Sofia and across the country. The company’s second production facility was completed and put into operation. New, high-performance equipment was implemented. The range of offered equipment and components was significantly expanded, making production activities a core aspect of the company. In the spring of 2008, “TANGRA-AV” participated with a large, standalone stand at one of Europe’s largest specialized exhibitions for ventilation and air-conditioning equipment (Mosta Convegno Expocomfort – Milan). The company received high recognition for the showcased products and established relationships with several new clients in Europe.

2010 - 2011

The global economic crisis, and especially the collapse of the construction sector, began to have a noticeable impact in the spring of 2009. Many ongoing projects were “frozen”, and new construction declined by more than 70%. As a manufacturer and installer of ventilation and air-conditioning equipment, “TANGRA-AV” also faced difficulties. It became necessary to reduce staff by more than 10% and increase efforts to optimize operations and find new clients.

Despite these challenges, the company continued to develop and implement new products. The management team motivated employees and improved their efficiency to overcome the difficult period. The first pellet boilers of “TANGRA-AV” were created, with the design and development carried out entirely by the company’s team.

Capital Fort

After many years of work on improving existing products and developing new ones, a new technical catalog was prepared, featuring more than 50 different heating engineering devices, all entirely designed and regularly manufactured by “TANGRA-AV”. The official presentation took place in Hall VIII of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) before more than 200 leading specialists in the HVAC field. Subsequent presentations were held in Varna and Burgas. To assist designers and engineers specializing in HVAC, specialized software was developed for selecting heat recovery units and energy-saving ventilation blocks, which is provided free of charge. The new website of “TANGRA-AV” was launched, featuring the complete technical catalog of manufactured products, the commercial and reference list, the specialized software for selecting energy-saving equipment, as well as a platform for fast customer contact with the team, whether for inquiries or service requests. “TANGRA-AV” continues to expand its product range. Two new models of pellet boilers were created. The company’s exports increased by 9.2% in 2011. “TANGRA-AV” was officially invited and became a member of the European association of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning companies – REHVA.

2013

“TANGRA-AV” is expanding its production facility. High-efficiency, energy-saving ventilation units were launched on the market, immediately attracting significant interest in Europe. “TANGRA-AV” continued to increase its network of partners across Europe, with regular orders beginning from Switzerland and Poland. In 2012, the “TANGRA-AV” team launched the first specialized online store for fans – Ventilator.bg. During its first six months of operation, the store recorded numerous sales. “TANGRA” was also the first Bulgarian company to create a pellet boiler with a heating capacity of 80 kW – TANGRA CL 80. The boiler was presented at the first official event “Heating with Pellets” in December. Simultaneously with the development of new products, the “TANGRA” installation team began work on Bulgaria’s first skyscraper – Capital Fort.

2013
