The 5-star „Pirin Golf & SPA” complex is located in the beautiful Razlog Valley and is one of the most renowned tourist resorts in the region. It offers opportunities both for rest and relaxation in its unique SPA center, as well as for sports such as skiing in the winter and golf from spring to autumn.
The company “TANGRA” began its work on the 5-star complex by designing the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems for the hotel and SPA center. Subsequently, the projects for the two energy centers were completed. One of them, located in the hotel section, has a boiler room with pellet boilers with a total capacity of 1,000 kilowatts (1 MW), while the SPA center houses the subscriber station supplying the SPA area. For cooling the hotel and for air treatment in the SPA center during the summer, water chillers installed on the roof are used.
The hotel meets all the criteria for a 5-star rating. The ventilation system was entirely manufactured by „TANGRA”, with high energy efficiency incorporated into the project from the outset. The hotel section is served by ventilation systems with a total heating capacity of 117 kW and a cooling capacity of 57 kW, with all systems featuring exhaust air heat recovery. This type of air recovery is utilized to the maximum extent due to the low winter temperatures typical of the region.
In the SPA center, for the various thermal features and differing requirements, the design team from “TANGRA” provided the necessary air volumes and heating and cooling capacities according to the technology. Air-handling units with built-in plate-type air-to-air heat exchangers TANGRA AHU-REC were used. All equipment was installed in internal machine rooms to preserve the architecture and appearance of the complex. The total heating capacity of the ventilation systems is 195 kW, while the cooling capacity is 119 kW.
In the 5-star complex, „TANGRA” also implemented the air-conditioning systems, mainly in the hotel section and SPA center. In every room, as well as in the common areas, corridors, lobbies, restaurants, conference rooms, and the lobby bar, the heating and cooling temperature can be individually controlled. The complex also includes a squash hall, whose ventilation was carried out by the „TANGRA” team using stainless steel duct systems from the Spanish company Negarra. Likewise, the conference rooms and relaxation area are equipped with similar stainless steel duct systems.
The implementation of the „Pirin Golf & SPA” complex was a challenge for the „TANGRA” team. Nevertheless, the company demonstrated its professionalism and successfully completed its work on the project.
In addition to the 5-star hotel and SPA complex, „TANGRA” also carried out the HVAC installations for the Country Club, Golf Academy, shops, and dining venues in the complex’s town area.
