On July 7, 2011, Tangra Ltd. became the first Bulgarian company to be accepted as a supporting member of REHVA, the European Association for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
The REHVA association was established in 1963 and is the only European professional organization entirely dedicated to improving the sustainability, comfort, and energy efficiency of buildings. The organization supports and promotes the development and implementation of methods to reduce energy consumption and increase the use of energy from renewable sources.
The main activities of REHVA are focused on improving European legislation to enhance air quality, reduce carbon emissions, certify buildings, promote products that help lower harmful gases, and standardize and certify the legal framework across different EU countries.
To date, REHVA has 41 member companies from across Europe, as well as 3 organizations for the certification of equipment in the fields of ventilation, air conditioning, and heating, aimed at improving indoor climate quality.
The organization publishes a monthly magazine with useful technical and practical information in English, which can now also be read online at http://www.rehva.eu/en/rehva-european-hvac-journal.
This year’s general assembly and annual meeting of REHVA took place on April 18 in Timișoara, Romania. In addition to voting for the organization’s new president, the results of this year’s student competition were announced. First place was awarded to Rik Maaijen from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, for his project titled “Occupant-oriented energy control, in which building occupants participate in the management of building systems”.
For its members, the organization also publishes specialized literature containing the latest developments in the fields of ventilation, air conditioning, and heating.
As a member of this organization, Tangra strives to implement all the latest developments in European legislation in order to meet the increasing demands of its clients.
